About Kris Hix

Kris Hix is an Enrolled Agent known as The Tax Lady in Northern Kentucky. An Enrolled Agent (EA) is a federally-authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation and who is empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service for tax audits, tax collections, and appeals. Quite simply, being an EA means passing some intense testing by the IRS. Hix has the authority to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). She can address issues as small as IRS error notices, all the way up to audits; overwhelming tax debt, IRS offers in compromise – and perhaps even help you and assist your attorney, to bring your case before the Tax Court.

Kris has been doing bookkeeping and accounting for over 20 years.  In 2003, the Tax Lady opened her own doors to the public. Hix Bookkeeping provides personal and business bookkeeping, accounting, payroll and tax services from her Independence, Kentucky location.

Kris has lovingly cared for, and  helped thousands of people.  Kris wants her clients to know that she is more than simply an income tax pro - she is their friend and mentor. The Tax Lady’s clients are welcome to call at anytime to ask questions.

With an open-door policy like that, she is very selective about her clients. You have to meet her high standards for ethics, manners, and responsiveness. In exchange, you will get educated, learning how to run your business in the most tax effective manner – and most profitably, too!

Being a passionate advocate of education, Kris teaches the implications of the Tax Code, the importance of key tax areas, and how to integrate them into your business and tax life most easily. Kris believes in making sure that everyone understands the contents of the tax return they are signing and the value of tax planning.

By constantly taking classes and consulting with other tax professionals, The Tax Lady ensures her clients are getting the best tax information available, cutting their tax bills ethically.
